The composer, musician and DJ Leon Weber was born in Munich in 1994 and grew up there in a family of classical musicians. He received cello, piano and percussion lessons at an early age. He builds bridges between experimental electronic music from the present and classical music from past centuries - be it a Beethoven symphony, a string quartet by Ravel or minimal music by Steve Reich. Weber takes the score and adds unique new colors and new meaning to the work. Weber moves musically at the intersection of different musical genres and the multidimensionality of his compositions makes it almost impossible to categorize his style into a specific genre. His work is particularly influenced by pioneers of electronic music such as Wendy Carlos, Suzanne Ciani and Laurie Anderson. Contemporary musicians with a connection to the visual arts and contextualized extra-musical ideas such as Ryoji Ikdea, Alva Noto or Floating Points are also a great source of inspiration.
